FROM CONVERSATION TO ACTION
Our Story
Vijana Kesho began in 2024, when a small group of parents raising teenagers and listening closely to their hopes and worries came together to respond to a wider truth: too many children and young people growing up in challenging environments are denied the chance to thrive. What started as conversations around our kitchen tables became a commitment to practical action.
From the start, we have focused on children and young people too often missed linking safe homes, schooling, healthcare, income prospects, climate readiness, and affordable connectivity. We work side-by-side with young people, parents, educators, faith communities, and local government to create practical answers, pilot them in small steps, learn and refine, and grow only what proves effective.
Given that we believe that all humanity were created in the image of God, this is only realized when humanity can live to their fullest potential. This conviction drives our insistence on inclusion, measurable results, and systems change so progress is affordable, owned locally, and lasting.
Our Guiding Statements
VISION
A Tanzania where every child and youth moves from vulnerability to possibility — living with dignity, opportunity, and voice.
MISSION
To mobilize local strengths and partnerships so that every marginalized child and youth can thrive through positive parenting, safe communities, quality health care, inclusive education, and work-ready skills.
Vijana Kesho is committed to inclusion, dignity and measurable impacts. Step by step, we co-create solutions that turn vulnerability into possibility for children and youth across Tanzania.
GUIDED BY VALUES< DRIVEN BY PURPOSE
Our Core Values
Our work is guided by values that reflect our faith, integrity, and commitment to children and youth. These values shape how we act, collaborate, and measure impact across Tanzania.
1. Safeguard Dignity and Elevate Youth Agency
We protect, listen to, and co-lead with children and young people so they can define and drive the solutions that affect them.
2. Equity and Inclusion by Design
We target resources where need is greatest and remove barriers so every young person can thrive regardless of location, disability, gender, or background.
3. Relationships that Grow Strengths
We start from strengths of children, youth, families, schools, faith and community leaders and grow capability through caring, consistent relationships.
4. Connected Partnerships for Collective Impact
We “go together to go further,” building coalitions that trade ego for impact and shift systems, not just projects.
5. Evidence, Integrity and Adaptive Action
We act with transparency and stewardship, make rigorous, data-grounded decisions, and adapt quickly to what works in real contexts.
