EDUCATION PATHWAYS TO THRIVING FUTURES

Vijana Kesho views Education as a critical pathway to thriving futures. We are dedicated to equipping children and youth across Tanzania to learn, earn, and lead through access to inclusive, high-quality learning and practical skills.

While learning in Tanzania spans from early childhood to young adulthood, significant gaps persist, with over 3.2 million children aged 7–17 out of school and secondary school enrolment below 35%. Ensuring every child learns and reaches their full potential is a vital investment in the future.

Our Approach: Learning and Leading

Our Education initiative is anchored in Pillar 4: AKILI AND ELIMU: Kujifunza na Kuendelea (Learning) of the SAFARI Wellbeing Framework

Key strategic priorities include:

Reconnecting Out-of-School Youth (NEET): Tailored coaching, credentials, and work pathways are used to support young people not in employment, education, or training.

Early Childhood Development (ECD): Advancing ECD through a holistic two-generation approach that strengthens caregivers and their children with nurturing care, health linkages, and stimulating community-based services.

OUTCOMES AND IMPACT

Through our interventions, we are focused on tangible, measurable results

Youth Skills & Income: 3,000 trained youths with over 50% earning dignified income within 12 months.

Pathways to Livelihoods: 1,000 youth transitioning to vocational training, short courses (TVET), apprenticeships, or enterprise within three months.

Work-Readiness: 3,000 youth completing work-readiness, business basics, life skills, and digital skills training.

Play-Based Learning: 1,000 caregivers/teachers trained in play-based learning, child protection, and positive discipline.
